A leak in the area of the intake system allows access to unaccounted for air, that is, air that is not taken into account in the calculations of the control unit and therefore significantly interferes with the preparation of the mixture. The mixture leans uncontrollably. Most clearly, this malfunction manifests itself in an unstable idle speed. But the same malfunction can manifest itself in the ringing noise of the engine running at full load.
Check vacuum hoses for tightness and cracks. All Hoses on Fuel Mixer or Intake Manifold (brake booster, intake air preheating, fuel evaporation systems) must be checked.
Warm up the engine and leave it to idle, open the hood.
Spray with a spray bottle containing fuel spray (For example «Startpilot»), block for preparing a combustible mixture near the flange to the exhaust manifold, sealing the flanges of the inlet channels and pipelines to vacuum-controlled units (with disconnected plug to lambda probe).
If the engine speed changes when spraying a certain place, it means that there is a leak.
Can a fuel line leak be recognized?
Were the wire ends repeatedly disconnected and reconnected? Corrosion or inept actions?
Carefully examine the plugs of the individual elements of the injection system. Contacts do not bend, but only spray.
