The Mono-Motronic injection system control unit can recognize and store in memory some of the faults that occur during engine operation. If the fault does not reoccur within the next 10 engine starts (sporadic malfunction), then it is automatically erased from the control unit memory. Information about constantly occurring failures is read during an inspection check in the workshop using a special device; this work cannot be done at home. If you suspect a malfunction in the ignition/injection control, then the readings of the fault memory can only be deciphered in a workshop. Additionally, you can use our list of faults, in which we have listed a large number of possible failures, even those that cannot be determined by your own diagnostics. After troubleshooting, the fault memory is erased by the reading device.
