Checking the catalytic converter and lambda probe (Audi 100 C4)

This test is carried out in the workshop as part of the annual exhaust gas toxicity test. The CO content is measured both at the catalytic converter inlet and at the exhaust pipe. The results of the readings are compared with each other. The degree of CO neutralization in the catalytic converter is determined using a special table. If the efficiency of the catalytic converter is below 50% when neutralizing CO, the catalytic converter or lambda probe is damaged.
