2. Remove the coolant expansion tank.
3. Disunite a socket of the index of temperature of a cooling liquid. Disconnect the expansion tank and take it to the side. Do not disconnect coolant hoses.
4. Disconnect the AKF valve (1). Remove the screws (arrows on the accompanying illustration) and remove the air suction hose.
5. Disconnect the air intake hose (1) from the hose (2). Remove the hose from the underside of the air intake pipe.
6. Remove the air filter housing, refer to Section Removal and installation of the air filter.
7. Disconnect the connector (2) lambda probe 2, located after the catalytic converter.
8. Disconnect the connector (5) lambda probe 1, located in front of the catalytic converter. (1) - knock sensor, (3) – engine speed sensor, (4) – knock sensor 2.
Replacing lambda probes
1. Remove the lambda probes.
2. Lubricate the threads of the lambda probes with high temperature paste G 05212A3. The paste must not get on the housing slot.
3. Fasten the lambda probes with a moment 55Nm.
4. If only the lambda probes were replaced: Connect the connectors (2) And (5) lambda probes.
Further removal of the catalytic converter
1. Disconnect catalytic converter/exhaust manifold bolting (arrows on the accompanying illustration).
Caution: The operation of lifting and placing the vehicle on stands is dangerous! Therefore, before carrying out the operation, read Section Jacking and towing.
2. Raise and place the vehicle on stands.
3. For vehicles with parking/auxiliary heating: Remove the bolts (arrows on the accompanying illustration) fastening the exhaust pipe of the parking/auxiliary heating to the bottom cover of the engine compartment.
4. Remove the lower cover of the engine compartment, refer to Section Removal and installation of the upper engine cover / lower protection of the engine compartment / subframe.
5. Disconnect the cover above the right drive shaft.
6. Turn away bolts of fastening and disconnect the catalytic converter from the preliminary pipe (arrows). Pull catalytic converter up
Caution: Protect the catalytic converter from shock.
