To perform the procedure on gasoline engines, refer to the illustrations:
Air filter. Petrol engine 1.6 l ALZ

- 1 — Filter element
- 2 - Upper part of the air filter
- 3 - Air duct
- 4 — Seal. Replace if damaged
- 5 — Air mass meter with intake air temperature sensor. Tighten the bolts to torque 6Nm
- 6 - Screw, 2Nm
- 7 - Heat shield
- 8 - Support
- 9 - Lower part of the air filter
- 10 - Screw, 20nm
- 11 - Air ducts to the front panel
Air filter. Petrol engine 2.0 l AWA

- 1 - Self-tapping screw
- 2 - Air duct
- 3 - Air duct. To the front panel
- 4 - Clamp
- 5 — Sealing ring
- 6 — Lid
- 7 — Air mass meter
- 8 - Connecting hose
- 9 — Self-tapping screw
- 10 — Self-tapping screw
- 11 - Upper part of the air filter
- 12 — Air filter element
- 13 - Lower part of the air filter
Diesel engine 1.9 l
Removal
1. Remove the top engine cover and the vibration damper underneath, refer to Section Removal and installation the upper engine cover/lower engine compartment protection/subframe.
2. Remove the screws (arrows in the accompanying illustration).

3. Remove the air duct (1) and (2).
4. Disconnect the air mass meter connector (1).

5. Disconnect the air supply hose (2), first opening the clamp.
6. Move aside the wiring harness at the air filter housing and remove the filter housing (arrow on the accompanying illustration).
Installation
1. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.
Diesel engine 2.5 l
Removal
1. Remove the top engine cover, refer to Section Removal and installation the upper engine cover/lower engine compartment protection/subframe.
2. Remove the air intake duct (1) to the air filter.

3. Remove the air filter cover (2).
4. Disconnect the connector (1).

5. Release the clamp (2).
6. Disconnect the hose (3) from the air filter housing.
7. Loosen the screw (4) and remove the air filter housing.
Installation
1. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.
