Bleeding the fuel system (1.8L petrol engine) (Audi A4 B6)

The turbocharged engine fuel system does not have a return fuel line. For this reason, after working on the fuel lines or fuel filter, it is necessary to bleed the fuel system to prevent damage to the catalytic converter. The engine can only be started after the air has been removed.

1. Turn on the starter, and the air from the fuel system will leave itself. This procedure may take several seconds.

Caution: After 10 seconds, interrupt the procedure for a short time.

2. After starting, let the engine run for about 2 minutes at idle speed.
