Table of contents: Bleeding after replacing the fuel… ↓ First filling of the fuel injection… ↓ Bleeding the fuel supply system ↓
1. On models with BUG/BUN, BTR, CATA since 06.2010, CCFA/CCFC, CCGA, CCMA since 06.2010, CJGA/CJGC, CJMA, CLZB and CRCA engines, due to the presence of a booster pump located in the tank, there is no need to bleed the fuel supply system. Bleeding occurs while the starter is running.
2. On models with CASA/CASB, CCGA, CATA engines before 05/2010, and CCMA engines before 05/2010, the fuel supply system must be bled, as dry running can damage the high-pressure fuel pump. Bleeding should be performed before engaging the starter for the first time after replacing the fuel filter, fuel lines, or auxiliary fuel pump.
Bleeding after replacing the fuel injection pump (bUG/BUN and BTR engines)
3. Disconnect the connector of the fuel pressure control valve "N276" (on the high-pressure fuel pump) so that the engine does not start while the starter is running.
4. Turn on the starter three times for 13 seconds, waiting 20 seconds after each turn.
5. Connect the "N276" valve connector, start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes and turn it off again.
6. Check for fuel leaks, clear any fault codes, and road test the vehicle by accelerating at least once with the accelerator pedal fully depressed. After the road test, check again for leaks.
Note: If air remains in the fuel system, the engine may go into limp mode and set a trouble code during a road test. In this case, clear the trouble code and road test again.
First filling of the fuel injection pump after its installation (other engines)
7. Make sure that the fuel level in the tank exceeds the reserve volume.
8. Connect the diagnostic tool and turn on the ignition.
9. On models prior to 2010 model year, select "Engine electronics → Basic setting → Channel 35 (a "Pump off") → Activate". The fuel pumps will turn on for about a minute when the display shows "Pump on." Repeat this procedure three times to ensure the fuel pump is filled with fuel.
10. On models from the 2011 model year, select "Engine electronics → Basic setting → Checking fuel system pressure → Start." The fuel pumps will begin to operate. In total, the pumps should run for approximately 3 minutes to ensure that the injection pump is filled with fuel.
11. Start the engine and let it run at moderate speed (more than 2000 rpm) about 2 minutes and turn off.
12. Follow the steps described in paragraph 6.
Bleeding the fuel supply system
13. Bleeding the fuel supply system is carried out in the same way as the first filling of the high-pressure fuel pump after its installation (see subsection above), but it is enough to activate the fuel pumps once (for one minute).
