Shift lever system on a manual transmission (with one pull)
1 shift lever
2 Tightening bolt of draft of a gear change
Gear shift mechanism and its lever (with two pulls)
1 adjusting rod
2 Shift rod
3 Gear lever support
4 Pusher
It would be possible to go too far when disassembling the shift mechanism in detail, but it rarely leads to malfunctions. If the gear is difficult to engage, then the malfunction in most cases lies in the clutch mechanism. However, the gearshift mechanism should be adjusted. Since this does not require special tools, this operation must be described. First you need to check the switch as follows:
Switch all gears in order. At the same time, check the operation of the lock for reverse gear. It should be possible to move the shift lever in the selected shift direction from the reverse clamp to the 3/4 shift line without pushing it hard. Otherwise, adjust the shift mechanism as follows:
Move the gear lever to neutral position.
Remove the head (handle) shift lever and remove the lever boot. The eye is attached with hooks to the bottom frame.
Check the position of the gear lever in the selected shift position (free play). To do this, on some models, pay attention to the distance (A). If it does not reach 37.0 mm, then you need to adjust the lever accordingly. The measured distance is the adjustment in the longitudinal direction.
Loosen the bolt (1) and move the plate (2) shift lever until the distance is reached (A). In this position, tighten the bolt to 25 Nm.
To properly adjust the shift lever in the transverse direction, you need to do the following:
loosen the nut (3) (see picture above) and move the ball joint in the housing horizontally in the direction of travel (4). Tighten the nut (3) torque 10 Nm.
Loosen the bolt (1).
Move the selector lever slightly back, which is at right angles to the direction of travel, i.e. holding it vertically and align it so that both ball joint lugs on both sides have the same distance (A) to the ball body.
Tighten bolt (1) torque of 25 Nm, making sure that the selected lever position does not change.
Engage all gears in sequence. At the same time, check the operation of the reverse gear lock.
If the normal operation of the switching mechanism is still not achieved, then you need to make a fine adjustment, for which loosen the nuts again (3) And (4).
Move the shift levers to the right until they stop on the gearbox and at the same time push the ball joint housing to the left against the lever.
Leave the lever and its support in this position and tighten the nut (3) torque of 25 Nm, and the nut (4) - torque 10 Nm.
Finally install the cover (cuff) and gear shift knob.
