Removal the gear shift mechanism (Audi Q5-8R)

Turn off the ignition. Remove the gearshift knob with the gearshift lever sleeve. Remove the climate control and indicator unit.



Remove the control panel of the multimedia system "E380".



Remove the front ashtray "1".



Remove the sound insulation above the gear shift drive. Unscrew the "arrow" nuts.



Remove rear noise insulation "2". Unscrew bolts "1" of the push rod and "3" of the stabilizer strut. Ignore "Pos. 2". Unscrew nut "1". Ignore "Pos. 2".





Risk of damage to the gearbox shift shaft. Do not press the shift shaft "1" with a crowbar or knock it down with a hammer. Install the "T40160" puller and remove the shift lever.



Unscrew the "arrow" nuts and remove the heat shield "1". Pull the gear shift mechanism downwards.

Installation

Installation in reverse order. Install the heat shield under the drive mechanism. Install the noise insulation at the rear. Install the gearshift drive. Install the control panel of the multimedia system "E380". Install the control and indicator unit of the air conditioning system.
