Remove the shock absorber strut.
Install the compressor on the spring. A piece of rubber (for example an old hose) can be used as a gasket.
Tighten the spring clamps evenly until the spring is compressed.
Loosen the upper shock absorber mounting nut using a spanner while holding the shock absorber piston rod.
Separate the shock absorber, spring and mounting parts.
Assemble all the shock absorber strut parts together with the new shock absorber. At the same time, lubricate the contact surfaces of the rubber parts with talc.
Make sure that the shock absorber strut fits precisely into the recesses at the top of the damper ring or in the lower support of the spring plate.
Align the shock absorber and spring relative to each other. The shock absorber mounting axis at the bottom must be in the same plane as the middle of the three holes of the upper shock absorber mount. If necessary, pre-install the shock absorber strut.
For vehicles with adjustable ride height, insert new sealing rings into the piston rod. After connecting, position the hydraulic line connector so that the connection points to the pedal in the upper spring plate; do not turn when tightening.
Tighten the new self-locking nut of the upper shock absorber mount to a torque of 2 Nm.
Install the shock absorber strut.
For vehicles with adjustable ride height, check the hydraulic fluid level in the reservoir (receiver). The hydraulic system removes air automatically while driving. Therefore, after a few kilometers, you need to top up the fluid again.
