Removal
Raise and securely support the vehicle. Remove the wheel.
Disconnect the muffler suspension straps. Lower and support the muffler and exhaust pipe.
Remove the parking brake cable on the equalizer nut. Pull the cable bushing out of the bracket. Remove both parking brake cables from the brackets and disconnect the brake hoses from the brake pipe brackets. Plug all hoses and pipes. For vehicles with ABS, disconnect the speed sensor.
Remove the nuts from the bolts that connect the trailing arms to the body. Do not remove the bolts yet. On the right side, disconnect the spring from the brake pressure regulator.
Remove the bolts connecting the diagonal arms to the axle and remove the bolts connecting the shock absorber strut to the axle. Pull the trailing arm off the bolts securing it to the body and carefully remove the axle from the car.
Caution: All bolts passing through rubber bushings must be tightened with the vehicle on its wheels. This is done to ensure that the bushings are installed in a relaxed state to avoid excessive wear on the tyres.
Installation
After placing the bridge on the car, install the two bolts securing the trailing arms. Tighten them with your fingers. Connect the lower strut mounts and install the wheels. Lower the car to the ground.
Tighten the trailing arm connecting bolts to 98 Nm and the strut bolts to 90 Nm.
Install the diagonal arm and tighten the bolt at the end of the bridge to 95 Nm. Tighten the bolt on the body to 90 Nm. Raise the car again to install other parts.
After installation is complete, install the speed sensor if equipped, bleed the brakes and adjust the parking brake if necessary.
