During the break-in period, the following rules must be observed:
- start moving only in first gear; avoid driving at high speeds and with the maximum speed of the crankshaft. To do this, you need to turn on the gear corresponding to the speed of movement in a timely manner; Avoid heavy traffic if possible (in deep snow, sand, mud, etc.);
- periodically check and, if necessary, adjust the tension of the auxiliary drive belts (generator, power steering pump, etc.).
It should be remembered that during the break-in period, the belts are most intensively stretched; monitor the condition and, if necessary, tighten all fasteners of the car. Particular attention should be paid to fastening the wheels, steering parts, front and rear suspensions and the exhaust pipe of the muffler to the engine exhaust manifold.
After running 1000 km it is necessary:
- check and, if necessary, adjust the clearances in the valve drive on models with engines without valve lifters;
- check and, if necessary, adjust the idle speed of the crankshaft and the content of CO and CH in the exhaust gases; change the oil filter and engine oil.
After a run of 1500 km it is necessary:
- check and, if necessary, tighten all accessible screw connections. At the same time, pay special attention to the fastenings of the generator, generator pulley, starter, exhaust pipe of the muffler, radiator, engine mounts, clutch drive, brake drive, gearbox, clutch housing, wheels, suspension parts, steering;
- check and, if necessary, adjust the tension of the auxiliary drive belts, the idle speed of the crankshaft and the content of CO and CH in the exhaust gases;
- check the preload of the front and rear wheel hub bearings, the rear brake pressure regulator, the front wheel toe-in.
