Order of execution
1. Using a special tool, compress the valve springs and remove the crackers 10 (see fig. Cylinder head, camshaft and valves) from the valve stem.
2. Gradually loosening the pressure on the lever of the device, allow the valve springs to fully decompress. Remove fixture.
3. Remove spring plate 9, remove outer 7 and inner 8 springs.
4. Remove valve 2 from guide sleeve 4 on the side of the combustion chamber, having previously marked them with the valve number.
5. Remove valve stem seal 5 and spring washer 6
6. Clean the head and valve stem from carbon deposits. After that, check the condition of the valves, the amount of wear on the valves and guide bushings, valve faces, seats and valve springs. Replace valve stem seals with new ones regardless of their condition.
7. Install the valves in the reverse order in accordance with the previously made markings. Before installing, lubricate the valve stem and guide bushings with engine oil. It is better to put plastic bushings on the valve stem so as not to damage the valve stem seal when installing the valve. After installing the valve cotters, remove the spring compressor and hit the valve stem with a soft-headed hammer to make sure the cotters are seated. After installing the valves on engines not equipped with hydraulic pushers, check and, if necessary, adjust the clearances between the camshaft lobes and valve lifters (cm. subsection 3.1.2.8) for WH, KP, WC and RT motors. KU and NF engines have hydraulic valve lifters.
