Execution order
1. Using a special tool, compress the valve springs and remove crackers 10 (see Fig. Cylinder head, camshaft and valves) from the valve stem.
2. Gradually release the pressure on the lever of the device, allowing the valve springs to fully expand. Remove the device.
3. Remove the spring plate 9, take out the outer 7 and inner 8 springs.
4. Remove valve 2 from guide sleeve 4 on the combustion chamber side, having previously marked them with the valve number.
5. Remove the oil seal 5 and the spring support washer 6
6. Clean the valve head and stem from carbon deposits. After that, check the condition of the valves, the amount of wear on the valves and guide bushings, the working chamfers of the valves, seats and valve springs. Replace the valve stem seals with new ones regardless of their condition.
7. Install the valves in the reverse order according to the previously made markings. Before installation, lubricate the valve stem and guide bushings with engine oil. It is better to put plastic bushings on the valve stem so as not to damage the valve stem seal when installing the valve. After installing the valve crackers, remove the spring compressor and hit the valve stem with a soft-headed hammer to make sure that the crackers are in place. After installing the valves on engines not equipped with hydraulic tappets, check and, if necessary, adjust the clearances between the camshaft cams and valve tappets (see Fig. subsection 3.1.2.8) for WH, KP, WC and RT engines. KU and NF engines have hydraulic valve lifters.
