Camshaft Drive Parts

Camshaft Drive Parts

  • 1 - generator drive belt;
  • 2 - vibration damper;
  • 3 - lower camshaft drive cover;
  • 4 - upper camshaft drive cover;
  • 5 - camshaft drive belt;
  • 6 - toothed wheel;
  • 7 - rear camshaft drive cover;
  • 8 - top cover mounting stand;
  • 9 - water pump sealing ring;
  • 10 - water pump;
  • 11 - crankshaft gear;
  • 12 - intermediate pulley

Execution order

1. Remove belt 1 of the generator drive.

2. Using a special tool, block the crankshaft from turning and loosen the bolt securing vibration damper 2 to the crankshaft.

3. Remove the top cover 4. Set the piston of the 1st cylinder to TDC (cm. paragraphs 3–4 of subsection 3.2.2). Loosen the water pump mounting bolts and turn the pump toward the block, thereby loosening the tension of the camshaft drive belt 5. Remove belt 5 from wheel 6. Remove toothed wheel 6 of the camshaft by unscrewing its mounting bolt

4. Remove the lower cover 3 of the camshaft drive by unscrewing the mounting bolts.

5. Loosen the vibration damper mounting bolt and remove vibration damper 2 with crankshaft gear 11 and belt 5.

6. Assemble the camshaft drive in the reverse order. Before installation, apply sealant to the threaded portion of the vibration damper mounting bolt and crankshaft gear. Tighten the bolt to 350 N·m (35 kgf·m). Adjust the camshaft drive belt tension (cm. pp. 1–3 of subsection 3.2.2.2).
