Adjusting and checking the tension of the camshaft drive belt
- 1 - camshaft drive belt tensioner;
- 2, 3 - spanners;
- 4 - camshaft gear wheel;
- 5 - camshaft drive belt;
- 6 - intermediate shaft gear
Execution order
1. Turn the water pump counterclockwise, having first tensioned the belt so that it does not jump off the gears. Using a mounting blade or screwdriver, turn the water pump counterclockwise, having tensioned the belt. Tighten the water pump mounting bolts.
2. Check the belt tension. The belt should twist no more than 90° with the force of the thumb and index finger.
3. Finally tighten the water pump mounting bolts to a torque of 20 N·m (2.0 kgf·m).
