5. Disconnect the coolant hoses from the engine.
6. Remove the distributor cap and high voltage wires.
7. Remove air filter (see pp. 1-6 subsection 6.1.2).
8. On vehicles with power steering, remove the pump without disconnecting the hoses and secure it with wire to the body.
9. On vehicles equipped with air conditioning, remove the compressor without disconnecting the hose and secure it with wire to the body.
10. Disconnect the wiring from the components and elements of the electrical equipment installed on the engine.
11. On engines equipped with a carburetor, remove the crankcase ventilation hose, disconnect the vacuum hose, disconnect the throttle cable, disconnect the fuel inlet and outlet hoses from the fuel pump and carburetor, remove the fuel pump.
12. On engines equipped with a fuel injection system, disconnect the fuel supply pipes to the injectors, disconnect the vacuum hoses from the idle speed controller, remove the air duct connecting the air flow sensor to the idle speed controller.
13. On turbocharged engines, unfasten the air filter cover and remove it together with the air duct. Remove air duct from intercooler to throttle body. Remove the hose from the intercooler to the turbocharger. Remove intercooler. Remove the generator duct. Disconnect oil cooler hoses from oil filter.
14. Loosen the bolt securing the clutch housing to the engine, located behind the clutch release fork.
15. Remove the heat shield from the right engine mount bracket.
16. Loosen the upper bolts securing the clutch housing to the engine.
17. Remove starter (see pp. 1–3 subsections 12.1.4.1).
18. Remove alternator (cm. pp. 2–7 of subsection 12.1.3.1).
19. Disconnect the exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold and from the bracket on the gearbox.
