Execution order
1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Remove the hood (see pp. 1–6 of subsection 11.3).
3. Drain the coolant (see pp. 1–3 of subsection 4.1).
4. Remove the radiator (see paragraphs 3–9 of subsection 4.6).
5. Disconnect the cooling system hoses from the engine.
6. Remove the distributor cap and high voltage wires.
7. Remove the air filter (see paragraphs 1–6 of subsection 6.1.2).
8. On vehicles with power steering, remove the pump without disconnecting the hoses and secure it to the body with wire.
9. On vehicles equipped with air conditioning, remove the compressor without disconnecting the hose and secure it to the body with wire.
10. Disconnect the electrical wiring from the units and components of electrical equipment installed on the engine.
11. On engines equipped with a carburetor, remove the crankcase ventilation hose, disconnect the vacuum hose, disconnect the throttle cable, disconnect the fuel supply and return hoses from the fuel pump and carburetor, and remove the fuel pump.
12. On engines equipped with a fuel injection system, disconnect the fuel supply pipes to the injectors, disconnect the vacuum hoses from the idle speed control valve, and remove the air duct connecting the air flow sensor to the idle speed control valve.
13. On turbocharged engines, unfasten the air cleaner cover and remove it together with the air duct. Remove the air duct that runs from the intercooler to the throttle body. Remove the hose that runs from the intercooler to the turbocharger. Remove the intercooler. Remove the generator air duct. Disconnect the oil cooler hoses from the oil filter.
14. Loosen the bolt securing the clutch housing to the engine, located behind the clutch release fork.
15. Remove the heat shield from the right engine mount bracket.
16. Loosen the upper bolts securing the clutch housing to the engine.
17. Remove the starter (see paragraphs 1–3 of subsection 12.1.4.1).
18. Remove the generator (see paragraphs 2–7 of subsection 12.1.3.1).
19. Disconnect the exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold and from the bracket on the gearbox.
20. Place a jack under the gearbox and slightly raise the gearbox.
21. Loosen the nuts securing the right engine support to the body and the left support to the engine.
22. Raise the engine using a hoist or winch
23. Remove the left engine mount bracket.
24. Install the engine in the reverse order. Before installation, lubricate the gearbox input shaft and the end face of the inner ring of the clutch release bearing with molybdenum grease.
