Order of execution
1. Open the hood.
2. Mark the location of the hinge brackets relative to the hood by circling them, for example, with a felt-tip pen.
3. For gas stops with plastic tip, use a screwdriver to pull out the retaining clip by 4 mm (do not pull out completely!) and remove the tip of the gas stop rod from the ball stud.
4. For gas stops with a metal tip, use pliers to remove the pin and remove the tip of the gas stop rod from the ball pin.
5. Loosen the bolts securing the hinges to the hood on both sides.
6. Remove the hood. It is advisable to do this with two people, since the hood is quite heavy.
7. Install the hood and tighten the fastening bolts by hand without tightening.
8. Connect the lower gas strut mounts.
9. Align the hood according to the previously made marks and finally tighten the mounting bolts.
10. If a new hood is installed and marks were not made before removal, the hood must be adjusted.
11. To do this, before the final tightening of the hinge bolts to the hood, cover the hood and install it so that the gaps between the hood and wings are the same on both sides, and the gap between the lower front panel and the rear of the hood is uniform throughout.
12. After that, carefully open the hood and finally tighten the mounting bolts.
