Execution order
1. Open the hood.
2. Mark the location of the hinge brackets relative to the hood by tracing them, for example, with a felt-tip pen.
3. For gas struts with a plastic tip, pull out the retaining clip by 4 mm using a screwdriver (do not pull it out completely!) and remove the gas strut rod tip from the ball joint.
4. For gas struts with a metal tip, use pliers to remove the pin and remove the tip of the gas strut rod from the ball joint.
5. Loosen the bolts securing the hinges to the hood on both sides.
6. Remove the hood. It is advisable to do this with two people, as the hood is quite heavy.
7. Install the hood and tighten the mounting bolts by hand without tightening.
8. Connect the lower gas strut mounts.
9. Align the hood according to the previously made marks and finally tighten the mounting bolts.
10. If a new hood is being installed and marks were not made before removal, the hood position must be adjusted.
11. To do this, before finally tightening the bolts securing the hinges to the hood, close the hood and install it so that the gaps between the hood and the fenders are the same on both sides, and the gap between the lower front panel and the rear of the hood is uniform throughout.
12. After this, carefully open the hood and finally tighten the mounting bolts.
