Hood opening
To unlock the hood, pull the handle located on the left side under the instrument panel. In this case, the hood will be pushed out of the constipation by the force of the spring. At the same time, the unlocking tab will move out through the grille, refer to the illustration.
Warning: Make sure the wiper blades are on the windshield before opening the hood. Otherwise, they may damage the paintwork.
To open the hood, pull the release tab in the direction of the arrow and lift the hood until it is pushed up by a spring.
Closing the hood
To close, lower the hood down until the spring force is completely overcome, then slam it so that it snaps into place.
Warning: Engine hood must be securely closed while driving. Therefore, always after closing the hood, check whether it has snapped into place. When properly locked, the hood is flush with the mating body components.
If, while driving, you notice that the hood latch is not latched, stop and close the hood.
Engine compartment
Warning: When working in the engine compartment, be especially careful!
Warning: Stop the engine, remove the ignition key from the lock.
Warning: Apply the handbrake securely.
Warning: Place the shift lever in neutral / position "R".
Warning: Let the engine cool down.
Warning: While the engine is at operating temperature:
- do not put your hands under the cooling fan, it may suddenly turn on;
- Do not open the radiator cap, the cooling system is under pressure.
Warning: Beware of short circuits in the electrical system, especially in the battery.
Warning: If it is necessary to carry out inspections on a running engine, be aware of the additional hazard from rotating parts (e.g. V-belt, alternator, cooling fan, etc.), as well as from the high voltage circuits of the ignition system.
Warning: Follow generally accepted safety practices and observe the warnings contained in this manual.
To avoid serious functional disturbances, be careful not to mix up fluids when topping up or between different systems.
