Note: On vehicles with an automatic transmission, also remove the two anti-roll bar mounting cups and the clamp bolt securing the front suspension arm ball joint pin to the steering knuckle. Separate the front suspension arm from the steering knuckle.
Caution: If the vehicle needs to be moved after the wheel drive has been removed, install the outer joint in place of the drive to avoid damaging the wheel bearing.
Installation
Install the wheel bearing in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:
- replace inner constant velocity joint (except vehicles with "DR" and "DS" model engines);
- clean the splines of the outer joint tailpiece and wheel hub;
- apply a special adhesive (for example "D6") to the splined tail of the outer joint at a distance of 5 mm before installing the wheel drive.
Warning: Allow the adhesive to dry for at least 60 minutes.
