Removal

Loosen the wheel hub nut.

Place the car on a lift and remove the wheel.

Loosen the bolts securing the inner joint of the wheel drive shaft to the flange of the differential output shaft.

Disconnect the wheel drive shaft from the differential output shaft flange.

On all vehicles except vehicles with FZ and EP engine models, mark the position of the ball joint of the suspension arm relative to the arm; on vehicles with a manual transmission, disconnect the ball joint from the right arm of the front suspension.

Use a puller to press the splined end of the drive shaft out of the wheel hub.

Remove the wheel drive.

Warning: If the vehicle needs to be moved after the drive wheel has been crushed, replace the outer joint to avoid damaging the wheel hub bearing.

Installation

Insert the wheel drive shaft into the hub.

On all vehicles except those with FZ and EP engine models, install the ball joint on the right arm of the front suspension, screw on the nut of the ball joint mounting bolt and tighten it to a torque of 6.5 kgf·m, observing the marks made during removal.

Screw on a new wheel hub nut.

Tighten and secure the bolts securing the inner joint of the drive shaft to the differential output shaft flange.

Install the wheel.

Lower the car and place chocks under the wheels.

Tighten the hub nut to a torque of 23.0 kgf·m and lock it.

Install the wheel cover.

Check and, if necessary, adjust the camber of the front wheels.
