Shock absorber strut for all-wheel drive vehicles (Audi A6 C5)

The details of removing the shock absorber strut are not described. Only the tightening torque values for installing the following elements are given below:
  • Stabilizer clamp to rear beam - 25 Nm;
  • Stabilizer bar link to stabilizer - 50 Nm;
  • Lever to wheel bearing housing - 70 Nm + turn to 90° angle;
  • Shock absorber to the car body - 45 Nm;
  • Lower shock absorber mount to the lever - 70 Nm + turn further by 90°;
  • Brake caliper to holder - 30 Nm.

Attention. Tighten the rubber-metal support mounting bolts with the vehicle standing on its wheels.

1 - protective cover,
2 - rubber insert,
3 - spring support,
4 - spacer ring,
5 - gas shock absorber,
6 - coil spring,
7 - spring support with protective tube,
8 - stop buffer,
9 - shock absorber support,
10- self-locking nut, 10 Nm,
A new nut must be used during installation.

11 - lower shock absorber bushing.
