Repair of shock absorber strut (Audi A6 C5)

In principle, the rear shock absorber strut is disassembled in the same way as the front shock absorber strut. In this case, it is necessary to pay attention to the following.

The upper and lower ends of the spring must be in contact with the spring support surface stop (see fig. 8.12). The picture shows the lower end of the spring. It should be directed towards the center of the car.



Position the shock absorber support as shown in Figure 8.13.



The axis passing through the centering pins 1 (Fig. 8.13) must be parallel to the axis 2 of the lower rack mount.

The centering pins should be located on the outside of the vehicle.
