Front wheel drive cars
Removal
Unscrew the bolts that secure the upper shock absorber to the car body (see fig. 8.6). To improve access to the shock absorber mounting bolts, you can slightly raise the car, but the car must stand on its wheels.

Unload the rear suspension springs by raising the rear of the car so that the wheel is 10 cm off the ground. Remove the rear spring from the supports and remove it from under the car. If necessary, have an assistant move the rear suspension beam down.
Unscrew the nut and remove the lower shock absorber mounting bolt. Move the lower part of the rear shock absorber upwards and remove it from the rear beam (see fig. 8.7).

Installation
Install the shock absorber in place, screw the bolts of the upper shock absorber mount to the car body and tighten them to a torque of 45 Nm.
Install the spring so that the outer coils of the spring after installation are located on the supports as shown in Fig. 8.3. If necessary, an assistant should move the rear suspension beam downwards.
Insert the lower shock absorber mounting bolt and screw the nut onto it without tightening it completely.
Lower the vehicle. Tighten the rear shock absorber lower mount bolt and nut to 50 Nm and then turn it through 90°.
