Since January 1988, when connecting the front wheel drive shafts to the hubs, no special glue must be applied to the shaft slots. Locking of the drives is provided by hex nuts of the hubs. On vehicles equipped with an ABS anti-lock wheel system, the gear wheel of the wheel speed sensor is rigidly connected to the wheel drive shaft.
Tightening torques of main threaded connections, kgf·m
Wheel hub fastening nut on splined tailpiece of wheel drive shaft: 2.8 (since January 1988: 1st reception: 20.0; 2nd step: turn 90°).
Bolts securing the inner joint of the wheel drive shaft to the flange of the differential output shaft:
- manual transmission: 4.5;
- automatic transmission: 8.0.
Wheel mounting bolt: 11.0.
