Since January 1988, when connecting the front wheel drive shafts to the hubs, it is not necessary to apply special glue to the splines of the shafts. The fixing of the drives is provided by the hexagon nuts of the hubs. On vehicles equipped with ABS, the wheel speed sensor gear is rigidly connected to the wheel drive shaft.
Tightening torques of the main threaded connections, kgf·m
Wheel hub nut on the splined shank of the wheel drive shaft: 2.8 (since January 1988: 1st appointment: 20.0; Step 2: turn 90°).
Bolts for fastening the inner hinge of the wheel drive shaft to the flange of the output shaft of the differential:
- mechanical gearbox: 4.5;
- automatic gearbox: 8.0.
Wheel bolt: 11.0.
