2. Remove the dust cap from the master cylinder, remove the retaining ring and washer. Remove the push rod.
3. Push the block into the end of the cylinder until the piston appears from the end of the cylinder bore.
4. Remove the piston from the cylinder, together with the return spring. Carefully remove the spring from the piston, replace the spring holder.
5. Remove the seals from the primary and secondary pistons, marking their installation locations.
6. Wash all components in clean hydraulic fluid and wipe dry.
7. Check the inside surface of the cylinder and piston. If there is wear or scratches, replace the master cylinder assembly. If the condition of the components is satisfactory, install new rubber seals. Never reuse old seals.
8. Begin the rebuild by lubricating the internal components and cylinder using clean hydraulic fluid.
9. Use your fingers to position the seals and cuffs so that the protrusion of the lining faces the spring.
10. Install the spring retainer and spring, carefully insert this assembly into the cylinder.
11. Push the piston assembly into the cylinder using a push rod. Install the snap ring and washer.
12. Lubricate the inner surface of the dust cap with lubricant, install the cap on the end of the cylinder.
