2. Remove interior trim to gain access to part connections.
3. On models equipped with a cable operated clutch, disconnect the cable from the pedal.
4. On models equipped with a hydraulically controlled clutch, disengage the pin with the head and the hole for the pin of the master cylinder and pedal, remove the master cylinder from the mounting bracket.
5. Separate the pin with the head and the hole for the cotter pin of the brake servo pusher on the brake pedal.
6. Disconnect the brake light switch wires, any additional wiring or connections, depending on the model or equipment installed.
7. Turn off lock nuts and bolts, remove assembly of a suspension bracket of a pedal with pedals.
8. Remove the retaining rings and pins with a head and a cotter pin hole, remove the clutch pedal spring. To facilitate the removal and installation of the spring, use tool 3117 or a suitable tool made of steel tubing to secure the spring in the compressed position.
9. Remove the clamp nut and bolt from the clutch pedal lever. Notice the position of the lever, spread it out of the slots. Release the brake pedal return spring, remove the clutch pedal and pivot pin from the pedal carrier. Remove gaskets, bushings, etc.
10. If necessary, the pedal pivot bushings can be removed by knocking them out with a punch.
11. Before reassembly, lubricate all mating surfaces and replace all locknuts and circlips. Assemble and install the pedals using the reverse sequence to removal. Finally, check the clutch adjustment as described in Chapter 2.
