2. Remove the interior trim to gain access to the part connections.
3. On models equipped with a cable-operated clutch, disconnect the cable from the pedal.
4. On models equipped with a hydraulically controlled clutch, disconnect the pin with the head and pin hole of the master cylinder and pedal, remove the master cylinder from the mounting bracket.
5. Disconnect the pin with the head and the cotter pin hole of the brake servo push rod on the brake pedal.
6. Disconnect the brake light switch wires, any additional wiring or connections depending on the model or equipment installed.
7. Loosen the lock nuts and bolts, remove the pedal suspension assembly with the pedals.
8. Remove the retaining rings and pins with a head and a hole for a cotter pin, remove the clutch pedal spring. To facilitate the removal and installation of the spring, use tool 3117, or a suitable device made of steel tube, fix the spring in a compressed position.
9. Remove the clamp nut and bolt from the clutch pedal lever. Note the position of the lever, move it away from the slots. Release the brake pedal return spring, remove the clutch pedal and the hinge pin from the pedal hanger. Remove the linings, bushings, etc.
10. If necessary, the pedal pivot bushings can be removed by knocking them out with a punch.
11. Before assembly, lubricate all contact surfaces, replace all locknuts and retaining rings. Assemble and install the pedals using the reverse order of removal. Finally, check the clutch adjustment as described in Chapter 2.
