Clutch cable — removal and installation (Audi 100 C3)

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2. Remove the pack shelf to gain access to the top end of the clutch pedal.

3. Loosen the 2 locknuts on the clutch cable adjuster in the engine compartment, pull the cable assembly off the anchor.

4. Disconnect the clutch cable from the hook at the top end of the clutch pedal and from the hook at the end of the clutch control lever.

5. Pull the clutch cable through the front bulkhead into the engine compartment and remove the assembly.

6. When installing a new cable, first attach it to the pedal, after installation, check and, if necessary, adjust the pedal free play.
