1. Check clutch operation and adjustment at the intervals given in the Maintenance Section using the following procedure according to the clutch type.

2. To check the adjustment, measure the play in the clutch pedal, which should correspond to the data in the Specifications.
3. If adjustment is necessary, open the hood to access the adjuster.
4. Loosen the two locknuts and turn the threaded rim of the cable to obtain the specified play. After adjustment, tighten the two locknuts (photo).

Hydraulically controlled clutch
5. Remove the pack shelf to gain access to the clutch master cylinder.
6. Loosen the lock nut behind the clamp on the clutch master cylinder linkage rod, turn the rod until the correct pedal height is obtained.
7. Press the clutch pedal, then release it and check that the spring returns the pedal to its original position correctly. After returning the pedal, check that it does not touch the stopper. If the pedal touches the stopper when not pressed, premature wear of the clutch friction lining may occur.
8. If the pedal operates satisfactorily, tighten the clamp lock nut and install the package shelf.
