If it is necessary to replace the clutch master/slave cylinder due to a suspected malfunction, first check its functionality. If the slave cylinder is removed with the pipe/hose line connected from the gearbox, do not press the clutch pedal. Otherwise, the piston will be forced out of the clutch slave cylinder and will fail. After installing the slave cylinder, carefully press the clutch pedal. If an unusually large force is required to press the clutch pedal, remove your foot from the clutch pedal. It is possible that the slave cylinder pusher has passed the clutch release lever. If the pedal force is approximately 300 N·m, the slave cylinder will be destroyed.
