1. Remove the brake pads as described in Chapter 7.
2. Remove the filler cap of the master cylinder reservoir, fill the reservoir completely. Clamp the flexible brake line between the rear axle and the body.
3. Loosen the brake line coupling at the rear of the brake slave cylinder.
4. Turn off mounting bolts of the brake cylinder.
5. Unscrew the brake pipe coupling, remove the cylinder from the shield. Plug the end of the hydraulic pipe if necessary.
6. Clean the outside of the cylinder.
7. Remove the rubber boots from the ends of the cylinder, remove the two pistons and the spring between them.
8. Inspect the cylinder bore, pistons and seals. If the cylinder is in good condition, use only a repair kit; otherwise the cylinder must be replaced. Clean all metal parts using methanol if necessary, never use benzine or similar solvents. Air dry the parts, or wipe them with a lint-free cloth.
9. Lubricate the seals with paste, install them so that the end of the larger diameter is facing the end of the piston.
10. Lubricate the pistons and cylinder bore with paste. Install the piston at one end of the cylinder, then the spring and the other piston at the other end.
11. Install the rubber shells on the pistons and in the cylinder grooves.
12. Installation is carried out in the reverse order, bleed the hydraulic system as described in Chapter 17.
