1. Whenever the brake drums are removed, inspect them for damage. Light scuffing of the friction surface is acceptable, but if it is excessive or if the inside diameter exceeds the specified wear limit, the drum and hub assembly must be replaced.
2. After a long mileage, the friction surface may become oval. If this happens, it may be possible to regrind the surface. However, it is preferable to replace the hub assembly and drum.
