1. Remove the caliper as described in Chapter 4, clean it outside.
2. Using a pump or compressor, drive the piston out of the cylinder, but place a block inside to prevent damage to the piston. Remove the dust cap.
3. Using a blunt screwdriver, remove the seal from the caliper hole, being careful not to scratch the walls of the hole.
4. Clean the caliper components with methanol and let dry.
5. Examine the piston and an aperture of a support if their condition is unsatisfactory, replace assembly of a support. Also replace the drive pins and/or bushings if they are damaged.
6. If the components are in satisfactory condition, use a repair kit consisting of a new seal and dust cap.
7. Install a new seal in the groove in the cylinder bore.
8. Install the dust cap on the piston as shown in fig. 9.10, move the piston to the cylinder and install the protrusion of the dust cap seal into the groove of the cylinder bore using a screwdriver.
9. Lubricate the piston and push it into the cylinder until the outer lug of the dust cap springs fits into the groove of the piston.
