Warning: Any clamps or clips that are damaged or cut when removing the cylinder head cover must be replaced with new ones when installing the cylinder head cover.

Loosen the four screws and remove the engine cover (see Fig. 3.1–7).

Disconnect control rod 1 (see Fig. 3.1–14) from the vacuum block.

Remove vacuum hose 3 from the vacuum block.

Unscrew nut 2 and remove the vacuum block.

Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose from the cylinder head cover.



Release the brake booster vacuum hose from the retainers.

Disconnect the cable and move it to the side.

Disconnect the cable and move it to the side.

Loosen the mounting bolts (Fig. 3.1–82) and remove the cylinder head cover.

Installation



Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.

Replace the cylinder head cover gasket if necessary.

When installing the cover on the bearing surfaces of the outer camshaft covers, apply a thin layer of sealant D 454 300 A, being careful not to block the oil supply hole.

Before installing the gasket, spray both sides with D 007 000 A2 silicon grease.

Tighten the cylinder head cover bolts gradually diagonally.
