Touch all electrical wires and instrument connections and connect or disconnect them only when the ignition is off.
If the engine should only be turned over by the starter, but not started, then the ignition should be turned off (neutralize).
When washing the engine, the engine should not be running and the ignition should be turned off.
To start an engine with a discharged battery using a starting device, it should not be connected for more than one minute and its voltage should not exceed 16.5 V.
If a defect in the afterburning system is detected or suspected, the ignition must also be switched off when towing the vehicle (neutralized).
Do not connect a capacitor to the 1/- terminal of the ignition coil.
The rotor (runner) of the ignition distributor should not be replaced with any other one, but only with one that has a resistance of 1 kOhm and the designation "R1".
For thick high-voltage wires, use only wires with a resistance of 1 kOhm and a spark plug plug with a resistance of 5 kOhm.
Disconnection (neutralization) ignition
For some engine work, the engine must be turned over by the starter, but not started. In order not to damage the ignition and injection control unit and the final stage of the ignition transformer, it is necessary to pull off the 3 - pin plug of the Hall sensor on the ignition distributor or, in the case of the KE-Motronic system, the plug on the powerful final stage of the ignition coil.
