The formation of ignition sparks does not occur in a separate switch, but with the help of a control unit. To prevent voltages from affecting the sensitive electronics for adjusting the ignition timing in the unit, the switching transistor (final stage) separated from the control unit and located in the transformer or near the ignition coil of the KE-Motronic system.
