When the ignition is on, do not under any circumstances touch the live parts of the primary and secondary circuits, this is life-threatening!

When the engine is running and at starting speed, do not touch or remove high-voltage wires under any circumstances!

Always switch off the ignition when performing any maintenance or repair work. This also applies to replacing spark plugs and connecting test equipment.

With the ignition on, a single jolt of the car is enough to generate a high-voltage pulse on the spark plug. This is life-threatening when working in the engine compartment. In addition, it can damage ignition system components.

When performing welding work, both wires must be disconnected from the battery.

If it is necessary to have the engine run at cranking speed but not start, for example when checking compression pressure, remove the connector plugs from the ignition coils and injectors.

When connecting or disconnecting the battery, turn off the ignition to protect the engine control unit.
