Procedure
At home, the control unit cannot be checked, but in practice it rarely fails. Sensors, switches and plugs break much more often. In the event of a malfunction, the following procedure is recommended:
- Make sure the ignition system is in order.
- Check fuel supply.
- Perform a visual inspection of the injection system parts.
- In conclusion, you should interrogate the memory of the self-diagnosis system. In this way, find the possible cause of the malfunction, check the part suspected of having a malfunction.
Visual check
First check the air hoses for tightness.
All hoses must be checked.
Check the gaskets under the cold start valve and on the injectors, as well as the flange gaskets of the inlet ports.
Through leaks, additional air can enter the intake system, which is not taken into account by the air quantity meter and therefore violates the proportions of the mixture. The mixture leans uncontrollably, which leads to engine malfunctions.
Checking details
The following describes the work on checking the parts of the injection system, which the motorist can perform independently:
- The fuel lines should be inspected for leaks.
- Check motor plugs (looseness, corrosion damage and, as a result, unreliable contact).
- Check the plugs on the individual parts of the injection system. With a thin screwdriver, you can slightly bend the cells.
