Unfortunately, deep repairs of injection system faults at home are not possible, because more thorough checks require, first of all, control and measuring devices, as well as a good knowledge of the injection system. For numerous measurements, special measuring devices and test plugs are required - in order not to accidentally damage the plug contacts. Therefore, in case of a fault, we recommend the following course of action:

If the car does not start, first check whether the ignition system is in order.

The fuel supply is then checked.

Next, a visual inspection of the injection system parts is carried out.

If the fault is not found in this way, you should review the fault list at the end of the chapter and check the fault memory in the workshop, check the suspicious part according to the specified diagram

Note: If the injection system fails completely, first check fuse #17, as well as the fuses in the black, brown and red holders (in the electronics unit).

Left: The fuel pressure regulator (arrow) is connected to the throttle body by a vacuum hose. It regulates the pressure in the system by increasing or decreasing the flow of gasoline back to the fuel tank.

Right: The throttle position is communicated to the control unit by the throttle potentiometer (3). At the top of the throttle body (2) is the throttle lever (1), in which the gas drive cable is secured.

Visual inspection

Is it possible to recognize a fuel line leak?

Have the wire ends been disconnected and reconnected many times? Corrosion or mechanical damage may result in poor contact.

Carefully examine the plugs of the individual components of the injection system. Do not bend the contacts, but treat them with spray.
