Adjustment

1. Loosen the tightening of bolt 24 of the terminal connection of the shift rod with the linkage 22.

2. Remove the gear shift knob and cover.

3. Place the gear shift lever vertically on the 3rd and 4th gear engagement line.

4. Tighten the traction rod terminal connection with bolt 24, while the gearbox must be in neutral position.

5. Engage 1st gear.

6. Move the gear shift lever all the way to the left.

7. Release the lever. It should return to its previous position, with the movement being between 5 and 10 mm. This value should be achieved by moving the lever hinge in the longitudinal holes.

8. Engage all gears one by one and pay attention to the efficiency of the reverse gear lock.

9. Replace the gear shift lever cover and screw on the handle.

Installation

1. Install the gearbox in place, having first lubricated the splines of the input shaft with a thin layer of graphite grease.

2.Tighten the lower gearbox-to-engine mounting bolts and the gearbox bracket mounting bolts to the front suspension beam.

3. Connect the gear shift rod to the gear shift linkage of the transmission without tightening the terminal connection.

4. Install the lower clutch housing cover.

5. Connect the wheel drives to the flanges of the differential output shafts, tighten the mounting bolts to the required torque.

6. Install the exhaust pipe, placing a new gasket between the flanges.

7. Lower the lift.

8. Connect the clutch cable to the clutch release fork lever.

9. Connect the speedometer drive cable.

10. Tighten the upper gearbox-to-engine mounting bolts.

11. Tighten the bolts securing the gearbox bracket to the body.

12. Adjust the gear shift mechanism.

13. Adjust the clutch pedal free play (see subsection 7.2.2 or pp. 1–3 of subsection 7.3.1).

14. Connect the wire to the negative terminal of the battery.
