Replacing brake pads
1. Set the vehicle to the parking brake.
2. Install support blocks under the rear wheels.
3. Loosen the front wheel mounting bolts.
4. Raise the front of the vehicle and place it on supports.
5. Remove the wheel by completely unscrewing the mounting bolts.
6. Rinse the brake mechanism with warm water and dry. Do not use gasoline, diesel fuel or any other mineral solvents to clean the brakes.
7. Check the brake pads for wear through the hole in the caliper housing. If the thickness of the friction linings of the pads on at least one side is less than 2 mm, then the pad sets must be replaced on both sides of the car.
8. Disconnect the connector with wires from the brake pad wear sensor.
9. Loosen the lower bracket housing mounting bolt while holding the guide pin with a wrench.
10. Rotate the caliper body downwards around the axis of the upper pin. Mark the brake pads if the old pads are to be reinstalled, as it is not permissible to replace the inner and outer pads with each other, or between the left and right wheels. This may result in uneven braking. Remove the brake pads.
11. Clean brake parts from dirt and rust, especially brake pad seats. Do not use gasoline, diesel fuel or any other mineral solvents to clean brakes.
12. If new brake pads are installed, it is necessary to carefully press the piston into the cylinder. At the same time, make sure that the piston does not warp.
13. Check that the thermal insulation gasket is installed correctly.
14. Install the brake shoes on the base of the bracket, making sure that the pressure springs are vertically upward and parallel to the upper edge of the brake shoes. Install the old shoes in accordance with the previously made markings.
15. Lower the bracket body.
16. Tighten the upper mounting bolt to a torque of 35 N·m (3.5 kgf·m), while holding the guide pin with a wrench.
17. Connect the connector with wires to the brake pad wear sensor.
18. Install the front wheel and tighten the mounting bolts.
19. Lower the vehicle to the ground and tighten the wheel mounting bolts evenly diagonally to a torque of 110 N·m (11.0 kgf·m).
20. Press the brake pedal several times to set the piston to the working position.
21. Check the brake fluid level in the reservoir and top up if necessary.
