Replacement of brake pads
1. Set the car to the parking brake.
2. Install support bars under the rear wheels.
3. Loosen the front wheel mounting bolts.
4. Raise and support the front of the vehicle.
5. Remove the wheel, finally unscrewing the mounting bolts.
6. Rinse the brake mechanism with warm water and dry. The use of gasoline, diesel fuel or any other mineral solvents for cleaning brakes is unacceptable.
7. Check the wear of the brake pads through the hole in the caliper housing. If the thickness of the friction linings of the pads on at least one side is less than 2 mm, then the pad sets must be replaced on both sides of the vehicle.
8. Disconnect the wiring harness from the brake pad wear sensor.
9. Loosen the lower bolt of the bracket housing, while holding the guide pin with a wrench.
10. Turn the bracket body down around the axis of the upper pin. Mark the brake pads if the old pads are to be re-installed, since it is unacceptable to replace the inner and outer pads with each other, as well as between the left and right wheels. This can lead to uneven braking. Remove brake pads.
11. Remove dirt and rust from the brake parts, especially the seats of the brake pads. The use of gasoline, diesel fuel or any other mineral solvents for cleaning brakes is unacceptable.
12. If new brake pads are installed, the piston must be carefully pressed into the cylinder. At the same time, make sure that the piston does not warp.
13. Check the correct installation of the heat-insulating gasket.
14. Install the brake pads on the caliper base, making sure that the pressure springs are vertically up and parallel to the top edge of the brake pads. Install the old pads in accordance with the previously made markings.
15. Lower the bracket body.
16. Tighten the upper mounting bolt to a torque of 35 Nm (3.5 kgf·m), while holding the guide pin with the wrench.
17. Connect the pad with wires to the pad wear sensor.
18. Install the front wheel and install the mounting bolts.
19. Lower the vehicle to the ground and tighten the wheel bolts evenly diagonally to 110 Nm (11.0 kgf·m).
20. Press the brake pedal several times to set the piston to the working position.
21. Check the brake fluid level in the reservoir and top up if necessary.
