Note. Before removing the brake pads, if they are not to be replaced, carefully mark their positions so that they can be installed in their original position. Never press the brake pedal if the brake pads are removed. Replace the brake pads only in pairs on both brake mechanisms at the same time. Brake pad wear can be checked without removing the wheels using a feeler gauge inserted between the caliper and the wheel disc. The gap is checked between the pressure spring and the brake pad lining substrate.
Remove the caliper.
Remove the protective cap from the cylinder, having first removed the retaining ring.
Insert a wooden spacer between the caliper and the piston to prevent damage to the piston on the caliper surface, and use a brass mandrel to push the piston out of place.
By forcing a stream of compressed air through the fluid inlet, push the piston out of the cylinder.
Carefully remove the sealing ring.
Carefully inspect the parts. If there are any scratches or signs of wear on the piston or cylinder walls, replace the brake mechanism. It is best to replace the protective cap and piston sealing ring each time you disassemble them, even if they appear to be in good condition.
Apply special brake cylinder grease to the piston, clamp the piston in a vice with soft metal pads and insert the piston into the cylinder using a brass mandrel.
Replace the sealing ring and protective cap.
Install the locking spring on the piston with the bent end in the direction of rotation of the disc when moving forward.
