Checking the condition of the working surfaces of the brake disc
1. Raise the front of the vehicle and remove the wheel (see subsection 10.4).
2. Clean the brake disc.
3. Measure the thickness of the disc with a caliper. The minimum allowable thickness of the disc is indicated in Technical specifications. If the thickness of the disk is less than the permissible value, the disk must be replaced.
4. If there are scratches, the disc can be removed and ground, but with the understanding that its final thickness should not be less than the permissible value. It is recommended to replace the brake discs on both sides. The end runout of the working surface of the disc should not exceed 0.06 mm.
Warning: Check the condition of the working surfaces of the brake disc without removing the disc from the vehicle. Removal and installation
Execution order
1. Raise the front of the vehicle and remove the wheel (see subsection 10.4).
2. Loosen the two mounting bolts, remove the brake caliper assembly and hang it on a wire to the body, making sure that the brake hose does not twist or experience excessive loads.
3. For ease of subsequent installation of the brake caliper, it is recommended to first remove the brake pads (see subsection 10.5).
4. Remove the brake disc.
5. Install the brake disc in the reverse order. Before installation, clean the mating surfaces of the wheel hub and brake disc. Tighten the two brake caliper mounting bolts to a torque of 70 N·m (7.0 kgf·m). After installation, press the brake pedal several times to set the piston to the operating position.
