1. On models equipped with power steering, a hydraulic servomotor unit is used to facilitate the depressing of the brake pedal. The servomotor is located between the master cylinder and the brake pedal and is powered by the hydraulic pressure of the pressure accumulator produced by the power steering pump.
2. Generally, the servomotor's hydraulic block is very reliable, but if the block is damaged, it must be replaced. Breakdown of the brake hydraulic system is not affected in any way, except that it is necessary to apply more force on the pedal.
3. To check the block, the engine must be turned off. Unscrew the return tube connection in the servomotor unit. It is normal for a small amount of oil to leak from the servomotor, but if oil flows continuously, the unit is defective and should be replaced.
