1. With the engine off, press the brake pedal about 20 times to release residual pressure in the system.

2. Remove the master cylinder as described in Chapter 14.

3. Remove the trim to access the pedal connections.

4. Disconnect the wiring of the alarm lamp switch.

5. Unscrew the two union nuts, remove the discharge pipe and return pipe from the servomotor unit.

6. From inside the vehicle, disconnect the servo pushrod from the brake pedal, and remove the four servo mounting nuts.

7. Remove the servomotor assembly from the bulkhead in the engine compartment. Remove the flange seal.

8. Installation is carried out in reverse order, please pay attention to the following points:
  • a) Check the length of the servo motor pushrod as shown in Fig. 9.36, adjust if necessary by changing the position of the clamp on the pushrod thread.
  • b) Always use a new flange seal and mounting nuts, tighten the nuts to the torque specified in Specifications.
  • c) Install the master cylinder as described in Chapter 14.
  • d) After installation, bleed the power steering system.
