1. With the engine off, depress the brake pedal about 20 times to release any residual pressure in the system.
2. Wipe the pad around the discharge pipe connection on the side of the battery case (photo). Loosen the union nut, remove the pipe and plug the end to prevent loss of hydraulic oil.
3. Unscrew the shock absorber hose at the connection under the power steering pump. Plug both ends of the hose.
4. Loosen the clamp, separate the return hose at the connection at the end of the accumulator. Plug the end of the hose.
5. Remove the two nuts securing the rear mounting bracket to the chassis, loosen the nut securing the front mounting to the suspension. Remove the battery from the installation, remove it from the engine compartment (photo).
6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order, bleed the power steering system.
