Checking the centrifugal regulator
Connect the strobe light.
Remove the vacuum hose from the distributor.
Start the engine.
Direct the strobe lamp to the ignition installation mark (see below "Checking the ignition timing").
The notch on the flywheel should shift and, when returning to idle speed, return to the original mark.
Checked the vacuum regulator
To check, remove the hose from the vacuum chamber and plug it with your finger.
Start the engine with the help of an assistant and accelerate to medium speed (about 300 rpm).
At these speeds, reconnect the hose to the vacuum chamber.
Since air is now sucked out of the intake pipe through the hose, the vacuum regulator should come into effect in this load area, due to which the engine speed should increase significantly without changing the position of the gas pedal.
If the engine does not start faster, there is probably a leak in the hose or in the vacuum chamber.
