Firing order (Audi 100 C4)

For the engine to run smoothly, the cylinders must fire in a certain sequence one after another. In accordance with the firing order, the wires in the distributor cap must be placed in a certain way. When the distributor rotor, with the distributor cap and dust cover removed, points to the mark on the edge of the housing, then cylinder number (1) (right, if you look in the direction of travel) stands at the ignition point. This is the starting point when connecting high-voltage wires.

Engine 2.0 l

Firing order: 1-3-4-2. Distributor rotation direction: clockwise.

Engine 2.2 and 2.3 l

Firing order: 1-2-4-5-3. Distributor rotation direction: clockwise.

Engine 2.8 l

Firing order: 1-4-3-6-2-5. Distributorless ignition system.
