Support the car from behind.
On the inside of the corresponding rear wheel, remove the plastic plug from the hole at the front of the brake shield.

The lining thickness inspection hole (arrow) on the rear brakes is located near where the parking brake cable enters the brake mechanism.
Shine a lamp into the inspection hole and determine the thickness of the lining.
The pads must be at least 2.5 mm thick without the base. If the thickness is less than this, the pad must be replaced.
Checking the brake pedal travel
Press the brake pedal with your hand.
Free travel should be no more than ⅓ of the total possible pedal travel.
A longer pedal stroke means that the pad thickness has reached its minimum value and the pads need to be replaced.
Excessive pedal travel may be caused by binding brake pads or rust in the brake calipers.
Increased travel may be caused by air entering the brake system.
