Disassembly

1. Press off the remaining inner race of the secondary shaft rear tapered roller bearing with the adjusting washer and gear 9 of the 1st gear (applying force to the 1st gear).

2. Remove needle bearing 7 and mark it.

3. Mark the position of the 1st and 2nd gear synchronizer clutch and hub relative to the shaft.

4. Press synchronizer 11 together with blocking rings 10 and 12 and gear 13 of 2nd gear (applying force to the 2nd gear).

5. Remove needle bearing 14 of the 2nd gear and mark it.

6. Remove retaining ring 15 and press off gear 16 of 3rd gear.

7. Remove retaining ring 17.

8. Press out gear 18 of the 4th gear and front roller bearing 19 of the secondary shaft.

9. If it is necessary to replace the secondary shaft rear bearing, press the outer bearing ring out of the gearbox housing.

Assembly

1. Install the front roller bearing 19 of the secondary shaft onto the secondary shaft.

2. Orient gear 18 of the 4th gear with the wide flange towards the drive gear of the main gear and press it onto the shaft until it stops, having first heated it to a temperature of 120°C by any available method, but without using an open flame.

3. Select the thickness of the retaining ring 17 from those supplied as spare parts so as to select the maximum axial clearance between it and the 4th gear pinion. Install the retaining ring on the shaft. Retaining rings with a thickness of 2.35 are supplied as spare parts; 2,38; 2,41; 2.44 and 2.47 mm.

4. Orient gear 16 of the 3rd gear with the wide flange towards the gear of the 4th gear and press it onto the shaft until it stops, having first heated it to a temperature of 120°C by any available method, but without using an open flame.

5. Select the thickness of the retaining ring from those supplied as spare parts so as to select the maximum axial clearance between it and the 3rd gear pinion. Install the retaining ring on the shaft. Retaining rings with a thickness of 1.50 and 1.60 mm are supplied as spare parts.

6. Install needle bearing 14 and 2nd gear gear 13.

7. Install synchronizer 11 of 1st and 2nd gears on the shaft, complete with blocking rings, in accordance with the previously made marks.

8. Install needle bearing 7 and 1st gear gear 9.

9. Press on the inner ring 6 of the secondary shaft rear tapered roller bearing.
