Distance between TDC mark and ignition timing mark on flywheel

- a = 7; 3 mm to the left of TDC - KF engine (3° before TDC);
- a = 14; 5 mm to the left of TDC - KZ, RX engines (6° to TDC);
- a = 36; 5 mm left of TDC - NF engine (15° before TDC);
- a = 43; 5 mm to the left of TDC - WH, WC, KP, KU, RT engines (18° before TDC)
The ignition timing angle is adjusted on a warm engine. The idle speed should be adjusted, all electrical consumers should be switched off, the cooling system fan should not work.
Execution order
1. Connect the stroboscope in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
2. Start the engine and let it idle.

3. Direct the strobe light beam at the window in the clutch housing. Mark 1 (ignition timing mark) on the flywheel should match mark 3 on the clutch housing. If marks 1 and 3 do not match, loosen the distributor mounting bolt and, by turning the distributor, align marks 1 and 3. Tighten the distributor mounting bolt (2 is the TDC mark of the 1st cylinder on the flywheel).
4. Check and adjust idle speed.
5. Check the ignition timing again.
6. Turn off the strobe light.
