The distance between the mark in. m. t. and ignition timing mark on the flywheel
- a = 7; 3 mm to the left of w.m.t. - KF engine (3°to w.m.t.);
- a = 14; 5 mm to the left of the w.m.t. - engines KZ, RX (6°to w.m.t.);
- a = 36; 5 mm to the left of the w.m.t. - NF engine (15°to w.m.t.);
- a = 43; 5 mm to the left of the w.m.t. - motors WH, WC, KP, KU, RT (18°to w.m.t.)
The ignition timing is adjusted when the engine is warm. The idle speed must be adjusted, all electrical consumers are turned off, the cooling fan must not work.
Order of execution
1. Connect the stroboscope according to the manufacturer's instructions.
2. Start the engine and let it idle.
3. Aim the strobe light at the window in the clutch housing. Label 1 (ignition timing mark) on the flywheel must match mark 3 on the clutch housing. If marks 1 and 3 do not match, loosen the distributor mounting bolt and turn the distributor until marks 1 and 3 are aligned. Tighten the distributor mounting bolt (2 - mark c. m. t. 1st cylinder on the flywheel).
4. Check and adjust idle speed.
5. Check the ignition setting again.
6. Disable strobe.
